Yeah, that’s why I try to refrain from seeing them as White, you know what I mean? Because even if they are ethnically White some definitely aren’t treated as such because of them being Jewish. It’s really tricky honestly.

I’m just saying, do not be so quick to write off all Jews as White and benefiting from privilege, because many of them ARE NOT ethnically White. Hell, you have Black Jews, East and South Asian Jews, Arab Jews.
I think that anti-semitism is taken much more seriously in the West than other forms of racism. It's seen as totally unacceptable but when POC talk about anti-blackness, or anti-Asian or any other kind of racial prejudice, everyone wants to pretend it's no big deal. And that in and of itself is a manifestation of white privilege.

Trust I know. One of the admins is a Black female, but that isn’t to negate the experiences and often complex ones within the Jewish American community, because even then it’s still trivialized - I mean look at South Park.
So, it is and it isn’t, because anti-antisemitism is taken seriously pretty much everywhere (considering that Jews of multiple ethnic groups are all over the world). As I said before, it isn’t that cut and dry to just throw Whiteness on all Jews.

Not quite, there are Jewish people of all ethnic groups, so it really depends upon the context and the person themselves. It isn’t quite and dry.
So we had to do this art project for school a year ago and a girl in my class chose to paint a giant picture of a womans face wearing a niquab. When we had to explain our intentions behind our project she started talking about how the eyes of this woman showed fear and oppression and I realised she wanted to make some sort of social commentary. I was thinking about Muslim girls passing that picture and realised how racist and insulting that was. White savior syndrom calling.

Anybody know where those incredible dance costumes a few posts down come from? I tried to find a picture credit on eclectic69's tumblr, but alas, found only the terse note "some ancestry" and wall to wall photos of peen. I am relatively confident that these people are performing a style from Mexico, and tentatively identified the performance as the Zapotec Danza de la Pluma, but I can't confirm.

i understand how the whole "white savior" thing is fucking annoying and racist as hell, and as an american im the first to admit we shouldnt stick our noses (or guns, rather) into affairs we dont understand or put the effort into understanding, or shrug off heroines of color b/c we think of them as less, as not yet liberated, as works in progress when we've got the "right" system. i agree with all of that 100 times. but are you suggesting women ARENT being oppressed? especially women of color?

No the blog isn’t suggesting that in the slightest. The blog tackles the fact that Westerners or well, White folks tend to think that ALL Women of Color are oppressed and need them to save them.
